How the compression suit won the race in competitive swimming.

What used to be gay men’s favourite Olympic sport, has been ruined by a piece of fabric. Competitive swimming has been the top sports for many openly and closeted gay men. Drooling over swimmers as they warm up in their speedo briefs, bending and stretching while leaving little to the imagination.
However during the 2000’s compression suits and shorts were introduced. Compression suits were worn to reduce drag and compress muscles for better blood flow. Good for swimmers, bad for the gays. As the shorts became longer, interest in watching competitive swimming gala’s became lower.
Gone are the days of watching a muscled stud diving into the water, wearing nothing but a skimpy swimming brief. In are the days of watching Iron Man compete in competitive swimming.
